SLI Testimonies
Dozens of churches and church organizations have been transformed by God’s Spirit. SLI has been privileged to be a part of this transformation, and below are testimonies of people who have experienced God’s power through SLI’s walk-along-side ministry. “I have experienced SLI's Incubator as God's provision for the holy discontent in my life. Through the loving environment of brothers and sisters in the ministry, the process of learning more about leadership, and the challenge to lead with holy conviction, wisdom and courage God has transformed my daily reality. I no longer experience daily ministry as a roller coaster ride of tiny peaks of joy and long dips of frustration. Now, I feel like I am in the race of I Corinthians 9:24-27/Philippians 3:12-16/Hebrews 12:1-2, running with strength and speed, and ready to endure to the end. “I would have to say that the Incubator experience has helped me more than anything else in giving me the resources, the determination, and the passion to be a leader in the church today. When I was first invited to take part in an Incubator, my main concern was the commitment of time that was required. After the first meeting I was convinced that it was worth the effort. Having now completed an Incubator, I can honestly say that my time couldn't have been better used.
The leadership skills and materials provided during the Incubator have proven to be priceless to me. I have come to realize that I had been taught how to manage a church, but I had not really been taught how to lead a church. The Incubator helped me to come to grips with the leader that God has called me to be. It also gave me a safe environment in which leadership skills could be nurtured and begin to grow within me. Our own church will now be beginning the same type of process, and the church leaders are already excited about what will happen because of it.
I believe that every church leader wants to dream about what God might do in the local church. However, I fear that many of those dreams are squelched by passive attitudes and negativity. Even so, I know that God is not finished working through local churches. The Incubator gave me permission to dream again. What a blessing it was to assemble with other people who wanted to dream about the church!”
