Overview
This Discipleship Systems Accelerator introduces the 4 Key Questions every church and leader needs to ask themselves about making disciples. In this six-session workshop you will learn how to apply the key questions in your own context through shared learning. This accelerator is for any leader who wants to gain confidence and skills to ensure that their church is making disciples or desires to see their programs and worship services operate in concert to bring people to full maturity as disciples of Jesus.
Completing this accelerator will help you:
Gain a level of understanding of the SLI process that would enable you to begin designing and experimenting with discipleship systems through SLI’s team-based, shared leadership approach.
Agenda
Primary objective: Introduction to the Cohort, Creating Environments, and SLI
Homework:
- Personal Discipleship Narrative
- Video: Systems
Question: How are we meeting people who are far from God and/or the church?
Homework:
- Third Space Exercise
- Organization Assessment
- Video: Context and Third Space
Question: What environments are focused on fostering a new or renewed relationship with Jesus?
Homework:
- Meet with a team in your local church to dream “beyond the altar call”
- Organization Assessment
Question: How do we come alongside people as they welcome transformation from the Holy Spirit?
Homework:
- Draft an invitation for small group leaders to gain formational focus in their groups
- Organization Assessment
Question: In what ways are we sending people into the world with the love of the Father?
Homework:
- Poll your community related to when were they first invited into leadership, and where they feel like they are currently expressing influence.
- Organization Assessment

- Initiate first experiment

Dates
- Option1: weekly meetings beginning week of January 29. Concluding Week of March 4. Ideal for a slower pace and weekly updates for your local team.
- Option 2: Two weeks of three meetings. Three meetings week of February 5 and week of February 17. Ideal for immersive learning and single overview update for your local team.
