Jessica Jones
Canon Jessica Jones has spent her entire life in parish ministry. Both of Jessica’s parents were pastors and Jessica followed in their footsteps in 2017 when she was ordained. She has served in a variety of positions, including: Worship Director, Director for Christian Formation, and an Executive Pastor.
Jessica’s educational experience has set her up to blend education, worship, and theology; she holds a PhD, a Specialist’s degree, and a Master’s degree, all in Educational Leadership, as well as a Doctorate in Worship Studies, and her undergraduate degree is in Music Education. Jessica values lifelong learning and is the Associate Academic Dean, Thesis Director, and Professor at the Webber Institute for Worship Studies where she guides leaders committed to addressing needs within local contexts.
Jessica has partnered with SLI in her current ministry areas as well as completed the SLI Foundation Accelerator course. She currently serves as the Canon for Next Generation Discipleship in the Gulf Atlantic Diocese as well as the Provincial Canon for the Next Generation Leadership Initiative, seeking to raise leaders for the next generation of the Church. Her areas of specific interest include adult education, leadership development, worship and liturgy, catechesis, family/student ministry, and ministry among women.
